1. CATCH BASIN COMPLETED ON CRAWFORD AVENUE. CONCRETE BASIN WAS BUILT BY TOWNSHIP USING ORIGINAL STEEL GRATE. WALLS ARE TWO FEET THICK TO HOLD LARGE VEHICLES. 5 YARDS OF CONCRETE WAS USED. 15 FEET OF NEW PIPE INSTALLED TO CONNECT CATCH BASIN TO GENTEX STORM LINE.
2. BRIDGE ON CRYSTAL LAKE ROAD. SUPERSTRUCTURE INSTALLED. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL ARCH STYLE CONCRETE BRIDGE. COMPLETION DATE UNKNOWN.
3. THOMPSON PROPERTY (LOCATED ON 43RD STREET). DEMOLITION NOTICES POSTED ON PROPERTY ON 10 JULY 2014. SOLICITOR TO COMMENT.
4. BURNT BUILDING ON MAIN STREET. NO PLANS SUBMITTED BY OWNERS TO DATE.
5. BUILDING LOCATED ON 204 MORSE (MARJER) CONTEMPT OF COURT CHARGES FILED BY THE TOWNSHIP ON JULY 10 AND DEMOLITION NOTICES POSTED ON PROPERTY 10 JULY 2014. PROPERTY LISTED FOR TAX SALE. SAID PROPERTY ALSO LISTED FOR TAX SALE. SOLICITOR TO COMMENT.

7. SIMPSON SEWER FUND UPDATE: THE QUARTER PAYMENT IS $26,004.60. –REMINDER. SIMPSON SEWER BILLS MAY BE PAID BY CREDIT CARD AT THE SIMPSON BANK. COLLECTION STATUS: THE SUPERVISORS INTEND TO EXTINGUISH THIS LOAN BY EARLY 2016 IF DELINQUENT PAYMENTS CONTINUE.
8. WILSON CREEK BRIDGE IS DOING GREAT. COMPLETION EXPECTED BY OCTOBER 30.
9. SALE OF TOWNSHIP LOT LOCATED ON 62 OWEGO STREET ( OLD COOK STORE). THE LOT IS 50 FEET BY 150 FEET. BIDS WERE DUE ON JULY 7, 2014 AT 7:00 PM. NONE WERE RECEIVED. TOWNSHIP WILL ADVERTISE AGAIN.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. OLD FELL SCHOOL DEMOLITION OF CENTER SECTION COMPLETED. FILL TRUCKED IN AND LEVELED TO CREATE A GREEN AREA IN THE CENTER SECTION. REPAIR OF GYM UNDERWAY.
2. JEFFERSON STREET PARK CLOSED–OPEN BY APPOINTMENT.
3. CLEANUP OF BROWN FIELDS. STUDY IN PROGRESS.
4. EARNED INCOME TAX “FAILURE TO FILE NOTICE.” SHOULD YOU RECEIVE A NOTICE AND YOU HAVE NO EARNED INCOME DO NOT PAY THE $25.00 DOLLAR FEE. JUST WRITE ON THE FORM “NO EARNED INCOME DUE TO WHATEVER.” SUPERVISORS ADVISED NOT TO PAY THE FEE. KEEP A COPY.
5. WALLIS ROAD BRIDGE FAILURE. TWO SUPPORT BEAMS RUSTED AWAY AND BECAME NOTICEABLE WHEN HEAVY TRUCKS BEGIN USING THE BRIDGE. SEE PICTURE. TOWNSHIP CREW REPLACED TWO 20 FOOT BEAMS AND REASSEMBLED THE DECK. COMPLETION IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS. SUPERVISORS WISH TO THANK TOWNSHIP ENGINEER, LOU NORELLA AND PENDOT FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT.

3. SHUST ROAD–EROSION DAMAGED TOWNSHIP ROAD. 16 LOADS OF “SHOT” STONE HAULED FROM THE BALL FIELD AND SET BY TOWNSHIP TO STABILIZE AND PROTECT THE BANK.. SUFFICIENT STONE WAS AVAILABLE TO STABILIZE THE NEXT SECTION AND PROVIDE A “GUIDE BANK” WHICH ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR GUIDE RAILS.

4. TIRE PICKUP COMPLETED ON FRIDAY. TIRES HAD TO BE CLEANED AND DRAINED BEFORE DELIVERY. NASTY JOB. PLEASE REPORT “DUMPERS.” THE SUPERVISORS WISH TO THANK JOHN REVAK FOR LABOR ASSISTANCE.

1. SIMPSON SEWER FUND UPDATE: THE QUARTER PAYMENT IS $26,004.60. THE LAST CERTIFIED BALANCE RECEIVED FROM PENNVEST DATED MAY 2013 WAS $523,567.48. THE SUPERVISORS ARE WAITING FOR FROM PENNVEST TO APPLY THE MONEYS COLLECTED FROM THE 50% PROGRAM TO THE OUTSTANDING BALANCE.

2. BRIDGE ON CRYSTAL LAKE ROAD AT INTERSECTION OF DUNDAFF ST (STATE RTE 106) CLOSED FOR REPLACEMENT. WORK DELAYED UNTIL JUNE 2014.

3. THOMPSON PROPERTY. COURT ACTION. DEFAULT JUDGMENT IN FAVOR OF FELL TOWNSHIP. DAMAGES WERE ASSESSED. SOLICITOR COMMENT.

4. BURNT BUILDING ON MAIN STREET. NO PLANS SUBMITTED BY OWNERS TO DATE.

5. BUILDING LOCATED ON 204 MORSE (MARJER) . OWNERS FOUND GUILTY AND MUST DEMOLISH OR REPAIR THE STRUCTURE. NO RESPONSE TO DATE.

12. GARBAGE AND TIRE DUMPING. AN ALERT RESIDENT NOTICED 8 BAGS OF GARBAGE DUMPED ON RESERVOIR STREET ON SATURDAY. SHE CALLED POLICE AND NAMES WERE GARNERED FROM THE BAGS. ARREST APPEARS EMINENT. PLEASE KEEP ALERT IN YOUR TRAVELS FOR DUMPERS. SHOULD YOU SEE SOMEONE WHO APPEARS TO BE DUMPING, DON’T STOP. JUST REMEMBER THE COLOR, MAKE OF VEHICLE AND LADDER RACK IF SO EQUIPPED AND CALL POLICE.

POLICE OFFICERS ARRIVED WITHIN 5 MINUTES. ONE BAG WAS TORN. THE CALLER ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE THE TORN BAG BUT THE OFFICERS SUGGESTED SHE STAY HOME AND THEY WOULD GATHER THE RUBBISH. THE OFFICERS WERE ANTHONY CALABRO AND DANIEL COULTHARD. THE BOARD SUGGESTS A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THESE OFFICERS FOR THEIR ACTIONS WHICH WERE CLEARLY ABOVE AND BEYOND THEIR SCOPE OF DUTY. . 1. ROAD DAMAGE DUE TO WEATHER. IT APPEARS WE ARE IN BUDGET WITH THIS ITEM.
