Township Vs Petak Proposed Settlement

The township sued Joseph Petak and his business, Petak Trucking, in December 2009 to stop him from using his business property to store and sell tractors, trailers, motor-vehicle parts and equipment. Fell claimed those uses violated its zoning ordinance.  Lackawanna County Judge Trish Corbett heard the case Wednesday at a nonjury trial. Shortly after testimony ended, the two sides reached a tentative deal to resolve the matter. 

Under the proposed settlement, Mr. Petak would have to clear the parcel that fronts Main Street of any vehicles and equipment, and he could keep those items on the third parcel but only where they are not visible from the road
